1. Who we are

The British Calcium Carbonates Federation (BCCF) is a UK trade body representing the interests of UK producers and suppliers of chalk, limestone, marble, dolomite and precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). The BCCF is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site. In particular, we want you to know that the BCCF is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies, businesses or organisations for marketing purposes.

2. Types of data we collect

Cookies
Cookies are small data files which are placed on your computer or other devices (such as smart 'phones' or 'tablets') as you browse a website. The BCCF website uses cookies to collect information about your browsing behaviour when you visit www.calcium-carbonate.org.uk. This includes information about pages viewed and your journey around our website. We do not use cookies to collect or record information on your name, address or other contact details. As we do not sell any products or services via our website we do not record any 'purchasing' or 'financial information' either.

Google Analytics
When someone visits www.calcium-carbonate.org.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Information you give us
This is information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our website, emailing us, writing to us or speaking to us by phone or in person. The information you give us may include your name, company, job title, employment details, contact address, email address, phone number and, possibly other personal information related to the nature of your enquiry.

3. Third Parties

To answer your enquiry or questions about the BCCF, or the calcium carbonate industry, we may share your personal information with our member companies to help us deal with your queries. Our current member companies are: Ben Bennett Jr Ltd, Francis Flower, Hanson Aggregates, Imerys Minerals Ltd, Leith (Scotland) Ltd, Longcliffe Ltd, Omya UK Ltd, Sibelco, Specialty Minerals Lifford and Tarmac Ltd. In addition we may also share information with other trade organisations, such as CCA-Europe (European Calcium Carbonate Asscociation), of which we are members.

4. Access to Information

Under data protection law you can exercise your right of access by making a written request to receive copies of some of the information we hold on you. You must send us proof of your identity, or proof of authority if making the request on behalf of someone else, before we can supply the information to you. Requests should be sent to us using the contact details below in section 8.

You do not need to pay a fee to exercise this right unless you are requesting copies of documents you already possess, in which case we may charge our reasonable administrative costs. We are, however, allowed to charge you for our reasonable administrative costs in collating and providing you with details of the requested information which we hold about you if your request is clearly unfounded or excessive. In very limited circumstances, we are also entitled to refuse to comply with your request if it is particularly onerous.

5. Data Security

We will always store your digital information on secure servers. Unfortunately, however, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our website or otherwise to our servers (such as by email). Any such transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

6. Third Party Sites

Our website contains links to and from third party websites. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these sites have their own privacy notices and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for those notices. In particular, please check their privacy notices before you submit any personal data to those websites as they may not be on the same terms as ours.
